Fractal is a safety and compliance app for fire alarm, emergency lighting and fire extinguisher workflows. The first Android release is designed to work offline-first. Inspection data is stored on the user's device unless the user exports, shares or backs it up.

1. Information stored in the app

Fractal may store the following information locally on the device:

2. Offline storage and backups

Fractal stores data locally on the device using app storage, SQLite and local preferences. Offline data does not automatically move to another phone.

The user can create a Fractal backup file. Backup files may contain buildings, devices, inspection history, reports, certificates, drawings, photos, QR data and local settings. The user is responsible for storing backup files safely and sharing them only with trusted people or services.

3. Camera, QR scanning and photos

Fractal may request camera access to scan QR codes and take photos for inspections, devices, drawings or reports.

Photos and QR information are used for the app's safety/compliance workflows and are stored locally unless the user exports, shares or backs them up.

4. PDF, reports and sharing

Fractal can generate PDF certificates, reports, drawings and QR sticker sheets. When the user exports, prints, shares or saves a PDF, that file may leave the Fractal app and be handled by the selected printer, file manager, email app, cloud storage app or sharing service.

5. Subscriptions and purchases

Android subscriptions are offered and processed by Google Play. Fractal stores subscription entitlement information on the device so the app can determine which modules are available.

Google Play processes payment and purchase information according to Google's terms and privacy policy. Fractal does not collect or store full payment-card or bank-account details.

The intended Android subscription options are one module, any two modules, or Complete access. A 14-day free trial may be offered for eligible new subscribers when the offer is displayed by Google Play. Billing, renewal, cancellation and refund handling is managed through Google Play.

6. Firebase and online services

Company cloud sync is disabled in this release. Fractal does not upload buildings, inspection records, device records, photos, drawings, reports or certificates to Firebase or another Fractal cloud service.

The Android app contains Firebase configuration required by the current application build, but Fractal does not use it to upload inspection data in this release. This policy will be updated before any cloud sync or company online-account feature is enabled.

7. Notifications

Fractal may request notification permission to show local reminders or testing notifications. Notification settings can be controlled through Android system settings.

8. Data deletion

Data remains on the device until the user deletes individual records where that option is available, clears Fractal's app storage in Android settings, or uninstalls Fractal. Clearing app storage or uninstalling the app may permanently delete local Fractal data unless the user created a backup.

The local sign-in profile is not an online Fractal account. Deleting the local profile or clearing app storage does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Subscriptions must be managed separately in Google Play. For help with deletion, contact [email protected].

9. Children's privacy

Fractal is intended for professional safety/compliance work and is not intended for children.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Fractal features change, including subscriptions, cloud sync, company accounts or web access.

11. Contact
